Planned Maintenance

Planned Maintenance

Our next scheduled planned maintenance is on Monday October 29 between the 8 and 9 AM EDT. During this time we will be working on updating the security of all of our Minecraft nodes and applying some bug fixes. Minor service interruption is expected and the down time should be less than 20 minutes. Services affected will only be the following: Shared Minecraft Hosting.

As with any Operating System, updates are needed. That is why we are doing some planned maintenance. Over time new patches and bug fixes come out that improve stability and security. By applying these updates we can ensure that our systems are safe and stable.

Here are some Q&A to put you at ease about your server data and uptime.

Q. How long will my server be down?
A. Your server will be down at a maximum of 20 minutes. However, It should only be no more than 5 minutes as the downtime will only be caused by a machine reboot.

Q. Will my data be safe during this time?
A. Yes. We take a backup of our Nodes before we run any updates.

Q. What happens if the updates breaks minecraft.
A. As we take backups before running any updates, if something should break or go into a really unstable state all we have to do is roll back to the backup.

Q. Why do these updates?
A. The updates are required for continued security and stability of our minecraft nodes. If we didn’t do updates periodically our systems would be insecure and your data would be vulnerable to exploits and hacks.
